Curved Stairlifts
When do you need a curved stairlift?
If you have one, or more, bends in your staircase you are likely to need
a curved stairlift. Curved stair lifts can be considerably more expensive than
straight stairlifts. The main reason for curved stairlifts being more expensive
is due to the nature of the staircase. If you have a straight staircase
then it is an easy process attaching the stairlifts track to your staircase.
However, with a curved staircase you have to have the stairlifts tracks
custom made to suit your staircase. This process is quite slow and most
stairlift companies take around 6-8 weeks to build the tracks for a curved
stair lift.
Curved stair lifts are often required
in order to provide access for elderly or disabled homeowners or tenants
who have some level of difficulty with accessing the different floors of
their place of residency. One of the main disadvantages of installing curved
stair lifts is that they can be considerably more expensive than traditional
straight stairlifts and in these cases it is often a lot cheaper to buy
used or reconditioned curved stairlifts instead. All of our recommended Suppliers
have been strictly approved by ourselves
to install and service curved stairlifts and we aim to give you all the
help and advice you need in order to find the most affordable option that
best suits your requirements for chair lifts.
The cost of curved stairlifts is based on a number of factors but primarily the more bends in the staircase the more expensive the stairlift will be. It is not uncommon to pay over £5,000 for a new curved stairlift. For many people the cost of a new curved stairlift can be too high. For this reason many people opt for the reconditioned curved stairlift option. As well as being cheaper, reconditioned curved stairlifts can be installed just a few days after the initial survey.
Our approved supplier prices start at £2,950 for reconditioned curved stairlifts and £4,000 for new curved stairlifts. This includes full 12 month warranty and comprehensive breakdown cover.
If you have a staircase with just one small bend at the top of the stairs it may not be necessary to have a curved stairlift. In this case a platform could be added to allow you to dismount safely at the top of the staircase without the need for a curved stairlift.
